Coach Wedge

High-Performance Catching & Hitting Coach

About Me

My name is Logan Wedgewood, and I currently live and work in Vancouver, BC.

As a player, I played four years at the collegiate level from 2013-2016. My first two years were for the Douglas College Royals in New Westminster, BC, competing in the Jr. College conference known as the NWAC (North West Athletic Conference - Washington/Oregon/BC) for Head Coach Cavanagh Whitely. Afterwards, I stayed local in BC and played two years for Okanagan College in Kelowna, BC under Head Coach Geoff White in the Canadian Collegiate Baseball Conference (CCBC). During the summers over that period I played for my hometown Edmonton Prospects in the WMBL (now WCBL) under Head Coach Ray Brown. During that time, I saw plenty of time as a utility player, with the majority of my innings being at catcher.

After my playing career concluded, I jumped right into coaching, and was fortunate enough to take a Grad Assistant coaching position at Okanagan College, where I spent my next three years. I was appointed hitting/catching coach for the 2018 season, where our program set new program records in most major offensive categories. We won our first CCBC Championship in 2018, and lost in a thrilling 3 game series final in 2019, preventing us from going back-to-back.

I have since moved to Vancouver, and have coached players from 5-25 years old. I have worked camps with 5-Tool Baseball for over two years, coached from high school - professional players in private settings, and in team settings with the Richmond Chuckers, Delta Blue Jays, and Douglas College Royals. My first Head Coach gig was in a Covid-Shortened 2020/21 campaign with the Richmond Bantam AAA Chuckers, while assisting with the Delta Blue Jays PBL program and Douglas College. In 2021/22, I started as Head Coach of the Delta Blue Jays Jr. PBL team, and will be starting my second season with the Jr. club in the 2023 spring/summer.

As of this year, I am a current full-time grade 6/7 teacher in Richmond, BC.  I believe that my experience in the classroom has and continues to shape and grow my coaching strategies.

Baseball is and always has been a passion of mine, and my number 1 goal as a coach is to share my passion with others, and keep the fun in baseball.
